Refund policy
The Southern Story endeavours to ensure that every transaction on our website is seamless. We take great care in delivering our products and adhere to the highest quality standards.
As a policy, we do not offer Return or Exchange on products delivered in perfect condition as per the order placed. However, if the product is wrongfully delivered (i.e. the product doesn’t match the item in the order confirmation), has a genuine quality/manufacturing defect, or is damaged during shipping, we are open to extending a Return or Exchange on your order.
In rare scenarios, if any product gets damaged during transit, we take full accountability for the damage—so you can sit back, relax, and shop without any fear of shipping-related issues.
Eligibility for Return & Exchange
- Handmade & hand-painted products may have minute imperfections in color, texture, polish, finish, shape, weight, or size, and may differ slightly from each other. These are natural features that make them unique. Return & Exchange is not applicable in such cases.
- Wooden products may develop hairline cracks with changes in temperature or climate over time. This is a natural process. Return & Exchange is not applicable in such cases.
- Antique & vintage collections are not machine-made or newly manufactured. They may have imperfections, dents, blemishes, etc., which we preserve to retain authenticity. Return & Exchange is not applicable in such cases.
- Handmade, hand-painted, handcrafted, vintage, or antique products will not be identical to one another or the photograph shown online. These are representative images. Return & Exchange is not applicable in such cases.
- Products purchased on sale or at discounted prices cannot be returned or exchanged.
For any dispute or concern, contact our Customer Care within 3 business days of delivery. After this timeline, Return & Exchange will not be applicable.
Return & Exchange is applicable only on products returned in their original, undamaged condition.
Returned products must be unused, unwashed, and returned with all original packaging and tags intact.
If a wrong/incomplete delivery address is provided, or delivery is refused, Return & Exchange is not applicable. Customers must bear reshipping charges.
For International Orders, if a customer refuses to pay the duty or fails to collect the order from the shipping agency, return and exchange are not applicable.
Process to Return or Exchange
Record an unboxing video and take clear photographs when opening your package. If you find any damage, incorrect product, or defect, contact The Southern Story within 48 hours of delivery with the video and photos.

- Our team will review your concern and respond with a solution within 7 business days.
- In case of an approved return/exchange, a reverse pickup will be arranged at our expense. If reverse pickup is unavailable at your pin code, you will need to ship the product to us at your cost.
- Once we receive the product in original condition, we will initiate a replacement within 7 business days, or a full refund if the item is unavailable. Refunds are processed to your original payment method.
- It will usually take 15 Business Days to return or exchange or refund from the day of reporting the issue.
